Before we had Lilly, Tyson and I were concerned about how Herbert would act with a new member of the family. As you all know, Herbert is a very spoiled Chihuahua that demands attention. When we started telling people we were having a baby they started telling us horror stories about how they had to give their Chihuahuas away when their first babies came. I was determined to keep Herbert and to make us a happy family no matter how much work I had to put into it. Luckily I didn’t have to do anything.
It is true that Lilly loves Herbert. She chases him around the house, smiles when she sees him, wants to sit by him at all times, and loves to play with him and his toys. She giggles when he growls at her or makes any other funny noses. As soon as she learns to crawl she is going to be following him around all day.
It is also true that Herbert tolerates Lilly. Although, at times he is a little jealous and will insist that he sits on my lap with Lilly he is still really good with her. If you watch the video below you will see that he acts annoyed of her but really isn’t. He welcomes her home with a kiss, brings toys to her to play with, and does a good job when she touches him. Sometimes he growls and will snap harmlessly at her (this is how he shows he is the boss) but she thinks it is the funniest thing ever and keeps bugging him. Herbert’s favorite time with Lilly is when she is eating. She often drops things that Herbert gobbles up.

They're buddies! That's pretty cute. We were thinking about getting a dog but are a little nervous about how young Austin is. This makes me feel a little more confident about it. She's grown up so much!
